What the camera does for you.

Most small-business paperwork starts as a piece of paper or a shelf label. The camera turns it into a record you can check, so nothing is typed twice.

Receipts and supplier invoices

Take a photo, or choose one from your gallery. Hesalio reads the vendor, total, VAT and date and shows how sure it is. You check the details, and a person on the Hesalio team reviews anything it is unsure about.

Works in your phone’s browser and in the Hesalio app. In the app on Android, the document scanner straightens the page and trims the edges first.

Stock counts by barcode

Scan product barcodes into a stock count, one unit for each scan, or type a quantity. Codes that match no product are kept aside so you can link them to the right one.

Camera scanning is in the Hesalio app. Typing a code, or using a USB or Bluetooth scanner, also works in the browser. Nothing changes in stock until the count is applied.

Shelf labels and tags

Point the camera at a printed label. Hesalio reads the barcode number or SKU and matches it to a product. If it is not sure, it offers a short list and you choose.

Label reading happens on your phone and is in the Hesalio app.

On Android

  1. Open hesalio.africa in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots) and choose Install app, or Add to Home screen.
  3. Open Hesalio from your home screen and sign in.

On iPhone

  1. Open hesalio.africa in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen.
  3. Open Hesalio from your home screen and sign in.

The first time you use the camera, your phone asks for permission. If you said no by mistake, turn camera access back on for Hesalio in your phone settings.

Plain about the limits.

It needs a connectionYour records live online, so signed-in pages will not open without signal. If your signal drops, Hesalio tells you, and changes cannot be saved until you reconnect. Nothing is kept on the phone to send later.
Some camera tools are not in the browserPhotographing or uploading a receipt works in the browser, and so does typing a barcode or using a USB or Bluetooth scanner. Camera barcode scanning, label reading and the document scanner run only in the Hesalio app, and only on app versions that include them.
It follows your roleOn the phone you see the same screens and permissions as on a computer. Counts are still applied, and filings are still approved, by the people allowed to do that.
